RECENT ADVANCEMENTS IN NANOPARTICLE-MEDIATED IMMUNOTHERAPY FOR CANCER TREATMENT: A REVIEW
GAYATHRI PRIYADARSHINI, B.Tech., VIT Vellore
Cancer presents a formidable challenge due to its complex cellular alterations and diverse molecular profiles, often leading to treatment resistance and significant morbidity. Traditional therapies such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, while foundational, frequently encounter limitations including metastasis, recurrence, and systemic toxicity (Koyande et al., 2022). Immunotherapy has emerged as a transformative approach by leveraging the body's immune system to target and combat cancer cells effectively. Strategies like immune checkpoint inhibitors and CAR-T cell therapy have demonstrated substantial clinical success, notably in achieving prolonged remission in various malignancies. The approval of ipilimumab for metastatic melanoma stands as a landmark achievement in this field (Fan et al., 2023).
ANALYSIS OF THE CURRENT BAIL JURISPRUDENCE IN INDIA WITH EMPHASIS ON JUDICIAL INTERPRETATION ESPECIALLY IN TERROR LAW
GAURI JADHAV, B.A. LL.B (Hons.), Symbiosis Law School
The aim of arresting and detaining the accused is to ensure they appear for the trial and, if convicted, for sentencing. However, if their presence at trial can be reasonably guaranteed without arrest and detention, it would be unjust to deprive them of liberty during legal proceedings. Thus, bail provisions are designed to secure the accused’s presence at trial without unduly infringing on their freedom. In the contemporary criminal jurisprudence for bail, a dilemma that often comes up is that if bail is granted liberally to next to everyone, there would essentially remain no credibility to the law enforcement. On the other hand, if bail is granted absolutely conservatively, there shall occur cases where guiltless persons shall languish in jail for no fault of theirs; only to be ultimately acquitted. Cases where bail is being denied solely on the ground of seriousness of offence and where other factors are overlooked, imply that it is being denied as a matter of punishment, even before the trial has begun.

REALITY IN FICTION: EXAMINING THE EFFECTS OF MEDIA VIOLENCE AND POTENTIAL FOR EMPATHY STUDIES
Sharyl Chin, English and Communication Studies (Concentration in Research), Nanyang Technological University
Since the inception of the Internet and the World Wide Web in the twentieth-century, the world has undergone a profound transformation in how information is shared, consumed, and accessed. The digital revolution has bolstered remote learning by democraticising information for varying audiences, and enhanced social connectivity for individuals across borders. Yet, the proliferation of content online has introduced numerous challenges that policymakers are struggling to address appropriately. One such issue is the concern over less desirable content online that vulnerable audiences, such as children, may inadvertently encounter. Violent media is an especially troubling example due to its potential to influence behaviour that harms social norms and its pervasive presence in mainstream media, including television shows, video games, comics, and more. Considering that research on media violence is one of the most extensively studied areas in media effects, this paper will provide an overview of the current research findings on media violence. Additionally, it will utilise VOID Interactive’s video game, Ready or Not (2023), as a case study of an underexplored aspect for researchers to consider – the role of empathy in moderating the effects of media violence. Through this dual approach, this essay aims to deepen current understandings of media violence and probe new directions for research that can better inform policy measures.
